ABOUT OUR TEAM

ABOUT FIRST

ABOUT THE SEASON

We are an FRC Team based out of Ignite Institute, a STEM school located in Erlanger, Kentucky. PiBotics has been together since 2011. Team 3814 started as the Ryle Raider Robotics team, but in 2013 we grew to a district-wide team open to high school students across Boone County Public Schools.

FIRST (For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) was founded by Dean Kamen in 1989 as a nonprofit organization. FIRST aims to develop an appreciation and interest for STEM among students while also supporting soft skills needed in the modern world. FIRST has several programs for 500,000+ students grade K-12 worldwide (Jr. FLL, FLL, FTC, FRC). For more information, visit FIRSTInspires.org

Teams from all around gather to compete in a fun and academic environment. Under strict rules, limited resources, and an intense two month time limit, teams are challenged to build and program industrial-sized robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. It’s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get. Team members also raise funds, design a team “brand,” and hone in teamwork skills.
